Printed copies of the minutes of the previous meeting [3] were passed
out at the meeting. The reading was waived and the minutes were approved by
voice vote,
The Treasurer's report [4], which had previously been E-mailed to all
directors, was presented in printed form and explained by the Treasurer. The
$1500 bonus paid to the Executive Director and previously approved by an
informal procedure was ratified by a voice vote.
Chair Brian Parent arrived at this point and presided over the remainder of
the meeting.
The Treasurer's report was accepted as presented and held for audit by a
voice vote.
There was no membership report.
Dave White presented printed copies of a slideshow [5] for the Pedal to
the Air Show event (bicycle parking at the Miramar Air Show). Jim Baross
made a motion to authorize Dave to move ahead in partnering with the Marine
Corps, and to look for at least fifty-fifty sharing of costs. The motion passed
by voice vote.
The Treasurer passed out copies of the 2008 Budget [6], which had also
been previously E-mailed to all directors. The budget was approved by voice
vote. The Executive Director noted that we will be having online discussions
about the more forward-thinking budget between now and the next meeting, and
that we will have an item on the next agenda for that.
The Executive Director presented written copies of the November/December
Executive Director's Report [7], which had also been previously E-mailed
to all directors. She also announced the big news: a $5,000 gift from
Trek.
The Newsletter Editor reported the following items:
- The next newsletter will be folded, assembled and prepared for mailing at
the next volunteer meeting 6:30-8:30 PM on Wednesday, February 6, at Standley
Recreational Center, one week earlier than usual.
- January 28 is the deadline for material for the next newsletter.
- Proposed items and articles are (1) progress on Lake Hodges bike/ped
bridge, (2) Trek gift to be postponed until money is actually received, (3)
$1000 gift from Cyclovets, (4) $500 gift from Adobe Systems, (5) Plaza Bonita
Bike Path, if it is open, (6) Inland Rail-Trail and Sprinter, (7) Bike Rodeo
at Sage Canyon School, (8) something about the Pedal Club, (9) information on
sponsors for Bike to Work Day, (10) vacancy on Bicycle and Pedestrian Working
Group, and (1) Jim Baross on lights and brakes.
The Executive Director announced that SDCBC will be considered a lobbying
organization by the City of San Diego after we have made ten contacts with
council members and other specified city officials. At that point, we must
register and report such contacts. Therefore, she asked that all such contacts
by any SDCBC director or officer be reported to the Executive Direction of
SDCBC.
The Club reports were as follows:

regarding the bicycle master plan for Oceanside has been posted at ktua.com/oceansidebmp. All
bicyclists, even if not Oceanside residents, are invited to complete the
survey online.

Club, announced that the club had recently been recognized by USA Cycling,

and an Alaska tour on June 30 - July 17.

100 bicycles to needy children, that the club had participated in the Martin
Luther King Day Parade, and that the club will do a tour of San Diego in April
or May.
- The Triathlon Club will do a Fiesta Island ride this Saturday.
- San Diego Cyclo-Vets are celebrating their 25th anniversary, and
that they will be holding their annual criterion on April 11-13 at Golden
Acorn Casino, Fiesta Island, and Mira Mesa.
- The Sierra Club has Sunday rides, and sometimes Saturday rides.
- The San Diego Wheelmen will hold their annual banquet this Sunday.

Coalition). The organization will come to San Diego on February 2-3, and
will ride the Bayshore Bikeway on February 3. The Pedal Power lobbying
conference will be held in Sacramento on april 30 and May 1.
Robert Leone reported that the Radonneurs did a 200K-300K ride with no
DNFs. (DNF means "did not finish".) They also have "populaires" in the 60-80
